Book Review: The Allure of Dean Harper by R.S. Grey

This is my first book by R.S. Grey, but it will definitely not be my last.  After writing this review, I will promptly start The Allure of Julian Lefray.  I cannot wait to read more from this author! I don’t know how I have not read Ms Grey until now, but I can’t wait to read more of her books if they are anything like The Allure of Dean Harper.  I had heard that this book would be funny and I knew I would not be disappointed when I’d already laughed out loud twice by page two.  There are some seriously funny parts in this book and  most of them come from the stubborn, opinionated and hilarious,  Lily Black. My family actually asked me if I was okay I was laughing so hard.  So if you have not read this hilarious, and sweet love story of Julian and Lily please read it, love it, and spread the word that everyone needs to read this book if they have not already done so. I know I will be telling all of my book friends to read it. 🙂

The Allure of Dean Harper is hot, funny, sweet and fast paced.  I could not put the book down and quickly read if in a few hours.  Don’t worry it’s not short. It’s an incredibly funny story that you will not be able to put down until you get to the very end.

Lily Black has just moved from Texas to New York City to live with her best friend, Jo. Dean Harper is an extremely successful multiple restaurant owner where Lily finds herself a job. Dean is also the best friend of Jo’s boyfriend, Julian.  Tension runs high through most of the book with Dean and Lily as they are constantly fighting for dominance in the personal and professional lives, and trying to fight the attraction they have for one another.  With both of them having so much in common with each other, it’s easy to see how perfect they are for one another even with all the fighting they do. They both love food, the restaurant business, stubborn, strong, but are also sweet, smart, and passionate.

Reading The Allure of Julian Lefray is not needed before reading The Allure of Dean Harper.  R.S. Grey writes the characters as if they’ve never been introduced in another book before. I always hate it when you find a book and it’s said that you don’t need to have read previous books but there are many times scenes that are brought up from previous books or characters and the author skims the information and you know you’re missing something since you haven’t read the previous book. Luckily you will not have this problem. I am going to read her other book with Julian and Jo simply because I loved this book so much I have to read more by R.S. Grey.  I think you will want to too! Off to read The Allure of Julian Lefray by my new favorite author.
