Book Review: Take Me for Granted by K.A. Linde

Do you ever read a book and have no idea what the book is going to be about?  Well that’s what happened with this book. I had previously read The Record Series by K.A. Linde and loved it so when the invitation came out to read Take Me with You, I jumped to read this series.

Take Me for Granted is the first book in the Take Me series.  The second book comes out on January 27, 2015 and I am so excited to read it. As soon as I finish writing this review I am digging into and will probably be up most of the night trying to read as much as I can before work tomorrow.

I love a bad boy rocker and Grant McDermott definitely lives up to the title in this book.  He’s the singer and plays guitar for Contraband.  A self-admitted manwhore who fucks, drinks, and smokes to forget the horrible memories from his youth.

Aribel has to be one of my heroine’s as of late.  She is feisty, yet innocent, and always says what’s on her mind.  Not matter what. Having been used to not opening up to anyone not even her family, I loved watching as she grew and experienced a life she never thought for herself because of Grant.

I know there are hundreds of books out there about rockers, bad boys, and the women who tames them but K.A. Linde’s writing instantaneously sucks you into her stories and makes this one different. She will have you smiling, your stomach in knots, crying, and pissed off as she takes you through the journey of Aribel and Grant’s relationship.  I was actually expecting quite a bit more angst in this story but it was surprisingly low on angst. I’m a self-proclaimed angst baby but somehow the way K.A. Linde works it into her stories, I can read it without falling apart.  That right there should tell you how great of an author she is.  This is a pretty quick read and I recommend reading any and all of K.A. Linde’s books.
