Book Review: A Necessary Sin by Georgia Cates

First off let me just say wow!  This book is so different than Georgia Cates The Beauty Series which I loved, by the way, but A Necessary Sin blew me away.  I couldn’t put my kindle down as I became consumed by this story. I absolutely loved it and I don’t know how I’m going to wait until the next book comes out on February 9th.  I’m dying to know how this story is going to play out.

At a very young age, Bleu McAllister experiences a devastating and life-altering event.  Since the age of twelve she has been training to take revenge on the man who killed her mother and thought he killed her as well.

True evil exists and it walks this earth in the form of a well-suited man wearing expensive shoes.  He speaks with a charming Scottish accent and smells of liquor and sweet tobacco. My mothers’ killer.

The one thing Bleu never counted on was falling for Sinclair Breckenridge.  I almost wanted to hate Sin just like Bleu did before he met him, but it was impossible once Bleu got to know him and with Sin trying so hard to romance her and willingly show his vulnerability. He is not the monster and villain Bleu thought he would be.

Sin was nothing like I expected. He was dangerous, yes, but also a man who was romantic even without trying to be.  Sin never had to chase after women before but after meeting Bleu and given her challenge he had no problem showing a strong man who could woo any woman and make them fall for him.  I know I certainly did.

I’m giving my body-and a piece of myself-to this man.  We are about to join and become one.  This is far beyond the physical act I expected.  I’m handing over a part of… my soul.  I didn’t know being with him would feel like this.

Sin and Bleu make the perfect couple.  I loved seeing their relationship develop. Almost any woman who had not grown up in the brotherhood would have been running for the hills, but with Bleu’s training she was unbothered by the ways of this crazy crime organization.  Bleu is exactly what Sin needs in his life and everything he thought he’d never have.

I think I may have met the perfect woman. In her eyes, I’m not a monster at all.

I was pulled in from the start of this amazing story and didn’t want to let go once it was done.  Everything you want in a book is in A Necessary Sin.  You’ve got your drama, passion, steamy sex scenes, and heart-pounding moments.  I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest for the last two chapters with what I feared might happen to Sin and Bleu.  I was afraid this book would leave off with one hell of a cliffhanger and it didn’t disappoint, but trust me it is so totally worth it.  I have a few thoughts on what I think happened when her mother was killed and I can’t wait to find out if I’m right.

“We’re going to be volatile.  We should prepare now for this to end badly.” She couldn’t be more right.  “We’re damned from the start,”

One thing that bothered me was the use of Scottish terms.  I had a pretty good idea what they meant, but I thought that maybe they would be explained by Sin or Bleu, but that never happened.  It’s not a big problem and the only fault I could find in the book.
