The book begins right where On the Record left off with Brady and Liz confirming that she is “Sandy Carmichael” to the press. They are now faced with the public’s scrutiny of their relationship, and dealing with Brady’s campaign. Everything in Liz’s life changes from what she had planned. Now she has to find her place in Brady’s world and her career while facing her insecurities and fears. Brady is confident now that they’ve come out and he’s taken control of the situation. I love how he took charge and put Heather in her place after she continued to treat Liz so badly. They had lived through hell and back when they were apart and have now realized that they couldn’t live without one another.
“I give you the stars. I already have mine.”
I had a hard time trying to decide my rating for this. I had been looking forward to this book for months. The series is definitely 5 star worthy for me. The only reason I hesitated with my rating is that I felt as though there were quite a few scenes that I was really hoping to see more of and they were a little rushed over or summarized. I still loved this, but just would’ve liked to see how some of those scenes played out. I was expecting more drama in this book with all of the different things happening to them, but it was surprising low key compared to the other two books in the series. While there wasn’t as much angst or drama as the past two books there were plenty of hot sexy scenes between Brady and Liz. K.A. Linde does a great job at writing her characters. Giving them such great detail and making you easily relate and fall in love with them. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
I look forward to the Clay and Savannah spin-offs. Maybe we’ll get some more of Brady in them. We can only hope. 😉
“Liz, please just think about this for a minute,” he said, closing the distance between them once more and backing her up against the wall. He placed his hands on her hips and then rested his forehead on hers. “I love you. You are the love of my life. Please…. Please,” he said hoarsely, “don’t let this ruin us.”
The epilogue was perfect! I am one that is almost always disappointed with the epilogues we are left with but with For the Record, you will not be left wanting.
**I received an arc from the publisher via netgalley in return for my honest opinion.**
